Almost everyone wants to lose at least a little bit of weight. In fact, at some point or another we have all looked in dismay at the number on the scale. Some of us will think “okay more veggies, less bacon.” Then there will be the people who throw their money away on weight loss programs. Unfortunately the most popular programs, are usually the most unhealthiest. So how do you know which programs are worth your time and effort? If you want a little help in that area, then keep reading.
# 1 – Slim Fast
You have probably always thought of Slim Fast as just a diet drink, this is no longer the case, Slim Fast has become it’s own full weight loss program.
In the US at least the Slim Fast slogan has taken the population by storm with it’s catchy weight loss idea of a shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch and a sensible dinner. You may think this is a good idea but we disagree with the replacing of meals with a shake even though many claim it works. The Slim Fast plan has taken a turn for the better now by offering food and snack bars too.
# 3 – The Abs Diet
A bestseller over the last decade is the Abs Diet. For men who want to lose weight, this is a great program. But that doesn’t mean women can’t use the program. While the program is based on tried and true weight loss techniques, it can feel a little gimmicky. The program talks about how losing weight is more complex than simply counting calories, and it also uses carbohydrates for energy.
# 3 – Mediterranean Diet Program
The Mediterranean Diet is rarely found at at the top of any lists like other weight loss programs. Even though, it is still pretty popular. The basis of the diet is from one that is popular in countries like Greece, or Western Europe. People from these areas have similar diets and appear to be thinner and healthier than most in the western world, so this diet assumes they have the right combination. Many people like this diet because they are allowed to keep eating their favorite foods.
As we have shown, not all weight loss programs are the same. By doing things that are good for you, several will help you lose weight. In the end, some may not even help you lose weight, or will hurt you physically. If you want to lose weight and are trying to find a weight loss program that will help you, talk to your doctor. Your doctor is already familiar with your health history. By looking at where you have been your doctor can advise the best way to get you to your goal.
